This is an expository talk giving an introduction to knot theory at the undergraduate level: we introduce the idea of knots and prove that knots exist (by constructing the tricolorability invariant). Then we prove all knotted loops come undone in 4 dimensions, but begin an exploration of the linking of surfaces with loops and knotted spheres.
